United Colors of 88 Run on November 10, 2012

5 schools... 4 distances... 1 historic run...

For the first time ever, High School Batch 1988 from 5 schools – Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU), La Salle Green Hills (LSGH), Maryknoll College (MC), St. Scholastica’s College (SSC) and Xavier School ( XS)– have banded together to create an event that underscores their commitment towards a united, healthy community in our city.

A Portion of the proceeds of the Run shall be given to support the "Kariton Klasrum" of Efren Penaflorida.

Also, to commemorate the Silver Jubilee Anniversary of Batch 1988, all distances have an extra 0.88 km added on. Aimed at providing whole families a healthy activity to share and to encourage people new to running.

Indulge Your Taste Buds in FOODGASM

The UP Economics Society, together with a number of organizations and other sponsors, brings you FOODGASM -- a food-tasting event and competition happening on August 25, 2012 at 7:00 PM in Mercato Centrale. Up and coming food businesses will be exhibiting their best selling product and will provide free samples of these to 1,000 foodies in attendance. Moreover, the participants will beselling additional fare for the food enthusiasts to patronize and try.

The overall winner of the Foodgasm competition will win Php 10,000 in cash, a trophy, a feature in Appetite magazine, as well as in the blogs of the partner bloggers judging the event. Of course, there will also be games and freebies from the sponsors to be enjoyed by everyone.

The participants consist mainly of student entrepreneurs, fairly new food businesses existing for less than 4 years, and those who just previously launched a new product. Their product entries, ranging from appetizers all the way to desserts, will be carefully judged by 1,000 foodies that include food bloggers and people from Knorr and San Miguel Foods.

Run for Light – Bonifacio Taguig City, July 21, 2012

 

Run for Light is a fund raising event of Stiftung Solarenergie(StS) that will help finance the distribution of solar lanterns to rural villages. It will also be an avenue to raise public awareness on the need to empower marginalized communities by bringing clean sources of light to their homes and an educational campaign focused on sustainable solar energy.
